Momentum Conservation Level 3

You will be presented with two Vernier Dynamics carts, both of which will be moving to the right. The one cart will overtake the other and they will collide. The carts will become magnetically stuck together during the collision. Your job is to predict the speed of the cars after the collision.

Find the speed of the cars after the car to the left collides and sticks to the car on the right. The mass of the carts themselves, without the masses on top of them, is 500 grams.

Make a drawing showing the masses and speeds of the carts before the collision. Then complete your calculations to predict the speed of the cars after they collide.
