Real Batteries of New Jersey With Predictions
Internal Resistance of a Battery with Predictions
This program will allow you to examine how a real battery is different from the idealized version of a battery that we use when solving simple physics problems. You will be able to adjust the external resistance of the system.

You should collect data to see how the current coming out of the battery affects the voltage at the terminals of the battery

Most of your data should be collected with a third resistor stripe of brown or black

When you are ready to start the lab, hit begin.

Click on the stripes to change the resistance value.

Pick resistor values that cause noticeable changes to current and voltage.

Collect enough data to produce a meaningful graph.

Finished
Create a graph with terminal voltage on the y-axis and the current in Amps on the x-axis.

Enter the slope for your graph.

Then enter the electrochemical potential of your battery.

Finally, enter the maximum possible current for your battery.
